Yes, sign up for the OPEN!

Let's talk about why you should do the CrossFit Open in 2016. Most of us are worried about not being able to do a certain weight or movement that might come up. Or maybe you don’t want to have a "judge" or have other people watch you doing the workouts or maybe you really aren't here to compete! The good news is there is a scaled division that will allow everyone to participate!
The Open is a great opportunity for us to celebrate our amazing BlackFin community. If you haven’t been to a Friday Night Lights event or a Thursday night announcement in the box, you most definitely need to make sure you attend one this year. We encourage everyone to sport a BFCF shirt at every Friday night event, which helps create a fun team atmosphere. It’s exciting to have your fellow members cheering for you, reminding you to get back on the bar and do one more rep, constantly encouraging you to push yourself beyond your limits.
The Open is also a chance for you to see how much progress you’ve made all year long, or just from when you started, by dedicating yourself to coming into the gym regularly. Over the course of the five weeks through the different workouts, you will be able to see where your strengths lie and your weaknesses will most likely be exposed – and we all have them, don’t worry. Marc and I have been doing these since 2011, and we have definitely been able to see how far we have come! Let me also point out, you will be doind the workouts at the box as the WOD anyway, so you may as well join our team and represent!!!
But the Open is not all about competition – its about proving to yourself that you can do it. Most of you are not looking to go to the Games, but you are always looking for ways to better yourselves. The Open is an opportunity for you to celebrate all your hard work from the past year and cherish your health by going out and doing your best. It’s an opportunity to be a part of one of the biggest worldwide sporting events with your CrossFit family.
Every year the Open rolls around we see someone do something they didn’t think was possible – perhaps its their first muscle-up, setting a new PR, or getting out of that comfort zone to sign up for a "competition" – the list goes on. Most importantly, its about people setting their mind to do something and going out and doing it. Every year people walk away from the CrossFit Open feeling inspired and motivated. So sign up and don’t be the one that regrets not doing the Open in 2016.
